Belgian Dark Ale

We have always been fans of Belgian style brews, the styles just seem to have so much complexity.  This limited release beer we have tried to put a local feel to a Belgian dark ale, using local Astra hops grown literally 30 minutes from the brewery.  We combined these locals hops with Belgian and German malts and a specially selected Belgian yeast strain and our Warby Range water.

Rich chewy malt on both the palate and aroma, with subtle spicy hop notes and fruity yeast characters from the higher temperature fermentation.

Food Match

This beer has a lot of complex flavours, it pairs very well to confit duck and sharp tangy cheese

Brew Pedigree

Malt: Belgian Pilsner, Munich, CaraRed, Caramalt and Coffee malt

Hops: Locally grown Astra from Ellerslie hop farm

Alc 6% IBU 30

Available in 330mL Cans and limited draught on tap at brewery and selected venues
