Red Menace
Red Menance
A collaboration brew with HopDog Beerworks, first brewed for Good Beer Week 2013. We decided our brew had to be massive in both malt and hop character.
So the brew chosen was an imperial red ale, dry hopped with a bucketload of hops including galaxy, citra, Chinook and waimea.
To make it even bigger, we barrel fermented and aged for a month in an oak barrel, and added a decent amount of brown sugar to the kettle.
This version, brewed at Black Dog went into an Old Liqueur Muscadelle barrel sourced from Taminick Cellars.
Expect a huge hit of jammy toffee malt, deep red colour and an assault of hops on the nose and palate.
When we drink it we always cheers #dogbrews
